It’s Been Awhile, but I’m back!
Here’s another post for this weeks theme over at I heart faces! I’ve been a little AWOL lately because I was pregnant most of this year and not doing much in the way of photo shoots. And I had my lovely little girl on Sept 6th just a mere 6 weeks ago and have had some fun taking pictures of her. And amazingly enough I have a few I could choose from for this, it was hard to decide but I really like this shot of her …..
So peaceful while she’s asleep. And everything about her is just PERFECT!
And I’m hoping to be making a more regular appearance here now. Trying to adjust back into life with a newborn
and not just any newborn but my 4th daughter and 6th child altogether. That’s what I’ve been up to lately.
Seriously having so much fun taking pictures!! And making them look great is half the fun!!
I had a lot of fun the other day. I have taken a few weeks off from messing with the photography for other people, but I took pictures for a friend just the other day!! Gorgeous baby … flaky skin, drowsy, and not sure what to think… those were just some of the things I noticed from this little girl. She is two weeks old, and very long…. she almost wouldn’t fit in the basket I used. But I managed to get her to fill it up.
I had a lot of fun the other day by shooting a session with a newborn baby BOY!! I’m thrilled to have gotten that opportunity. He was a gem and let me tweak him just so, and try most of my ideas out. It took a bit of effort to come up with something cute and not girly. Because I don’t think his mama would have wanted me to put a little tutu, and headband with a huge flower attached to it on his head.
It’s fun to really put myself in a place that I feel uncomfortable at first, and really try to work magic with my camera. I finally feel like I’m beginning to get the hang of using my camera and get the effects that I want. Still lots to learn, but at least I’m having fun along the way.
While at a family BBQ on Memorial Day, I had arranged to take pictures of this handsome little fellow. He is almost 5 months old, and has a great smile, that I really wanted to capture. And I think I did at great job waiting to get the shot I knew he was capable of.
We have only a few days before I head off to California for a visit with family. And more chances to capture some nieces and nephews on the camera. I’ll also get to have my first
experience with a large group. But hey, what can I say, I’m doing it to help out a
friend and her family. It’ll be good experience. So stay tuned for that, sometime after the 12th of June.
Okay so this afternoon, I was able to take pictures of yet another gorgeous little girl. This was a whole new experience from the other day. This baby was wide awake, mostly cranky, fidgeting and made it difficult to really try to get any great shots off.
But after leaving for a few brief moments to pick up my daughters from school I dropped them off and left them all there at home to hang out, while I returned back to the home where the pictures were being taken. And upon my return, the baby was way more content (she was being fed a bottle when I left) and we were able to get a few cute shots.
I think I might invest time and a few $$ to construct a home made backdrop holder.

I had so much fun photographing this cute baby girl. She is only 13 days old, and just took my breath away by how gorgeous she is. Here are just a few samples of the pictures that I captured, more to come soon. This was my first newborn shoot! And definitely a learning experience.
It’s always nice to know people that have babies, that you can use as a model.
