This last weekend I had the opportunity to take some more family pictures. And this
family was so fun. They are young, brand new parents, have an adorable baby by the way.
And they were so laid back, they weren’t afraid to do anything and very, very fun to work with.
Here’s a few “peeks” from their photo shoot.
Oh wow, I’ve taken a little hiatus for the last year and half or more. But here I go again …
So much fun to photograph this little family. The awesome red hair from the girls is gorgeous and even though their original choice in location was a bust, I came prepared with an alternat solution. And apparently I wasn’t the only one there taking pictures. The little giggles and the silly little looks on the older girl’s face were priceless.
It was a fun photo shoot — a little “rusty” after not having really taken anyone’s pictures in a while except playing paparazzi to my own children. Absolutely refreshing to get behind the camera again and get creative.
It’s Been Awhile, but I’m back!
Here’s another post for this weeks theme over at I heart faces! I’ve been a little AWOL lately because I was pregnant most of this year and not doing much in the way of photo shoots. And I had my lovely little girl on Sept 6th just a mere 6 weeks ago and have had some fun taking pictures of her. And amazingly enough I have a few I could choose from for this, it was hard to decide but I really like this shot of her …..
So peaceful while she’s asleep. And everything about her is just PERFECT!
And I’m hoping to be making a more regular appearance here now. Trying to adjust back into life with a newborn
and not just any newborn but my 4th daughter and 6th child altogether. That’s what I’ve been up to lately.
The other morning we got lucky and had a clear day where we could attempt a family photo session. This family was so much fun, and they know how to have fun. I especially liked the little guy!! However, we had unexpected company show up for the photo shoot also, and that visitor seemed to steal the show from then on out. It was a four legged friend of the feline variety. Thanks again for letting me “shoot” you.
I had so much fun taking this little boy’s pictures !!! Very handsome young man, and has quite the personality. Now I want to do more kids that are older. There is so much more that you can do.
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve attempted a Fix it Friday with I heart faces!! But I think I’m getting my game back on… or at least pretending to. This week I had a lot of fun with this picture …. the girls are gorgeous the scenery is gorgeous… so I just had fun playing with it …. so here are my two favorite edits I came up with.
Edit #1 — This one was fun because of the muted tones in the picture!! I love the “vintage” feel of it as well. Almost kind of day dreamy. I actually used a coffee shop action called CoffeeShop Creamy Chocolate B&W but I added a little of the color on the B&W layer to achieve this. I also cropped it in a little and came up with this. Totally love it!!
Edit #2 — This one I had more fun with letting the color POP out of the picture!! I also used the CoffeeShop’s Perfect Portrait on this edit.
I use PSE 4.0 for my editing and sometimes I use Photoscape, but today I didn’t use photoscape.
While I was on a trip to California the first full week in June I had the opportunity to photograph a family for a friend I knew as a child. The crazy thing is the friend lives in Wisconsin and I live in Utah, but the rest of her family lives in California, where we grew up, which was the same place I was going. She needed someone to do family pictures seeing how they haven’t had anything done in several years.
I wasn’t familiar with the layout of the land anymore, and didn’t really know where I should do the photo shoot. Well, after talking with a local photographer decided on a location and checked it out before I met up with them. BINGO… the place was one of the nicest looking locations in the area. The only problem I could foresee was lots of BRIGHT sunlight. I ended up getting lucky and had some clouds roll in that gave us great lighting to use, BUT I also had WIND come up and felt bad about it, but I worked with it anyway. I would have gladly rescheduled but the group wouldn’t be altogether again for a little while… so I did the best I could. A great learning experience, and I wouldn’t mind doing this again, because now I know things to look for, and what lens I’d like to get before the next large family group shoot.
